BIOGRAPHY
Peter Hendrie is based in Melbourne, Australia.
He began studying photography at the Royal Melbourne Institute
of Technology (RMIT) but left after four months when he had the
opportunity to learn more as an assistant at the Newton and Talbot
Studio in Melbourne.
From here, he continued working as an assistant for a wide range
of photographers in London, Europe and Japan for three years
until he returned to Australia to establish his own photography
studio.
Over a period of twenty years, he has worked
for most of Australia’s
leading design firms and advertising agencies, photographing
campaigns and annual reports for most of the major corporations.
In 1984, he founded The Image Bank Australia, an international
photo library. Since 2001, when he sold The Image Bank Australia
to Getty Images, he has concentrated on his photographic collection
of the Pacific islands and produced his book, Pacific
Journeys. |
